Cape Town – Patriotic Alliance (PA) deputy president Kenny Kunene has been cleared of wrongdoing after a forensic probe into his alleged links to businessman Katiso “KT” Molefe, accused of masterminding DJ Sumbody’s murder.
Kunene was at Molefe’s Sandton home during the businessman’s arrest in July, saying he was facilitating a meeting for a journalist from his publication, Africa Global News.
His presence prompted PA president Gayton McKenzie to suspend him and led to his resignation as Johannesburg’s MMC for Transport and as a councillor.
A law firm’s investigation found Kunene’s explanation truthful, and McKenzie announced on Facebook that Kunene is reinstated and will be the PA’s mayoral candidate for the City of Johannesburg.

“You never went out to badmouth the party. I remember people called you, ‘No, how can McKenzie do this? Like, what is he doing? Is that the right thing?’ So, I want to say our DP is back. Die Here is die Here (God is God).”
