Durban – An 18-month-old African Grey parrot was killed by three Pit Bulls after the dogs allegedly entered a private property in Grangetown on Friday morning.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) said its officers responded to an emergency call from a distressed resident on High Street at approximately 10:23.
The dogs later returned to their yard without external intervention. The bird’s body was recovered at the rear of the property.
According to RUSA, the same dogs were involved in a previous incident on 29 August, when they entered another property on the same street and attacked a dog.
Residents have expressed growing concern over the safety risks posed by the animals.
