Johannesburg – The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has confirmed two major product recalls affecting South African consumers, involving certain Ford Ranger vehicles and specific Mitchum Roll-on deodorants.
Ford Ranger brake boost safety recall
Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd (Ford) informed the NCC that it is recalling 5,676 units of the 2025 and 2026 Ford Ranger Wildtrak, Tremor, and Platinum models due to a potential loss of the brake boost feature.
“Drivers of the affected vehicles may notice a change in pedal feel or travel, with increased pedal effort required to brake the vehicle,” Ford said in a statement.

“The Anti-lock Brake System, Electronic Stability Control, and brake warning signals will illuminate, accompanied by informational messages and an audible alert.”
Ford warned that the defect could cause extended stopping distances, increasing the risk of an accident. “Consumers are urged to immediately contact their nearest authorised Ford dealership to have the affected component replaced at no charge,” the company said.
Mitchum Roll-On products recalled for skin reactions
The NCC also announced the recall of approximately 124,176 units of Mitchum Roll-on deodorants after a change in the manufacturing process of a raw material affected the acidity of the final product.

The manufacturer advised, “Consumers who have purchased the affected products should discontinue use immediately and return them to the point of purchase for a full refund. Those affected by the product are urged to contact Revlon South Africa for further guidance.”
