Cape Town – A regular Lotto Plus 1 player has become South Africa’s newest millionaire after winning R11.2 million in the 3 September draw with a R60 Quick Pick on his TymeBank app.
He said he always believed his lucky break would come and broke down in tears, offering a prayer of gratitude when he received the winning notification.
“When I received confirmation that I was the jackpot winner, I felt so many emotions. I broke down in tears and offered a prayer of gratitude. I have been waiting for this moment.”
The winner plans to expand his business, invest wisely, travel, and help those in need.
Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza congratulated him, saying his story reflects how the National Lottery transforms lives.
Winners of more than R250,000 are paid directly through Ithuba, with free financial and trauma counselling provided for amounts above R50,000. All winnings are tax-free.
