Cape Town – A Capitec banking app user has claimed the R41 million Lotto jackpot from Draw 2571 on 27 August.
The lucky player, who spent R30 on a manually selected ticket, revealed that his biggest previous win was just R303.
“I mix it up with different numbers, selecting them randomly,” he said.
“My biggest win before this was R303 in other divisions, so this is a life-changing moment!”
He described the moment he discovered his win online as emotional.

“I cried tears of joy, I have always dreamed of winning!”
Although he has not yet shared the news with anyone, he is already planning his future.
“I’m planning to buy my dream house and car – things that would have taken me a lifetime to accomplish, I can finally afford them now and that brings me such peace of mind,” he said.
The winner also hinted at exploring charity work once his financial priorities are secured.
ITHUBA CEO Charmaine Mabuza congratulated him, noting the growing trend of digital lottery participation, with more than 60% of tickets now purchased through banks.
