Johannesburg – Tiger Brands has announced a precautionary voluntary recall of its Benny Beef and Chicken Flavoured Stock Cubes following the discovery of inaccurate nutritional labelling.
The products are manufactured for Tiger Brands’ Culinary Division by a third-party supplier.
The company confirmed that the recall decision, made after consultation with the National Consumer Commission, was precautionary.
“Tiger Brands is working with its retail and wholesale customers to remove all impacted Benny Flavoured Stock Cube products from store shelves. This precautionary voluntary recall does not include any other products marketed and sold under the Benny brand,” it said.
Tiger Brands has not received any consumer complaints regarding the affected products but said the move reflects its commitment to high-quality standards and consumer safety.
The recall affects 12, 24, and 48 cube packs of Benny Flavoured Stock Cubes in both Beef and Chicken flavours, with a Best Before date of 31 July 2027 or earlier. The affected products’ barcodes are:

Tiger Brands is working with retail and wholesale partners to remove all affected products from store shelves. The recall does not impact any other products under the Benny brand.
Consumers who have purchased the affected stock cubes are advised to return them to the original point of sale or contact Tiger Brands’ consumer careline to receive a full refund or coupon. Benny Flavoured Stock Cubes were launched in trade in early 2023 as part of Tiger Brands’ Culinary Division ingredient segment. The company said it will make the products available again once labelling corrections are completed.
