Cape Town – Poet, musician, and media personality Ntsiki Mazwai has made a heartfelt public plea for assistance with legal costs following her loss in a defamation case filed by DJ Euphonik.
In a video posted to X, she thanked her supporters and humbly asked for donations to cover the R200,000 she was ordered to pay in court costs.
“You saw my business being splattered in the streets. I’m going to put my email address on here. Anybody who wants to donate to the legal bills…,” Mazwai said.
She assured that all funds would go directly to her lawyers and encouraged donors to send proof of payment if they preferred to contribute directly.
Good morning….its my birthday on 3 September….may I start collecting blessings🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿❤️thank you to everyone in the DMs for the endless support. To the big sisters who send me money to get massages to make me feel better. I appreciate you so much. You know who you are. Thank you pic.twitter.com/2nTO0sK3At

Emphasising resilience, she framed the situation as a temporary setback: “It doesn’t have to be the end of the world. We’re going to pay bit by bit… continue building the MOYA podcast, continue building Nontsikelelo Mazwai, the future president of South Africa.”
Her ongoing legal struggle stems from a defamation judgment in early 2022, when she implied on X that Euphonik was a rapist. The court ordered her to pay approximately R200,000 in legal costs.
Media personality MacG reacted to recent developments involving Ntsiki Mazwai, after she admitted she was wrong about the rape allegations she had previously made against DJs Fresh and Euphonik. In a video clip circulating online, MacG expressed disbelief, exclaiming “Welele!” as news spread that Mazwai is now pleading with Euphonik to drop the cost order lawsuit filed against her.

Mazwai’s public plea has left South Africans divided, with some seeing it as accountability and others as a desperate attempt to escape the consequences of her past allegations.
