Polokwane – A 34-year-old man is expected to appear in the Kgapane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 19 August 2025, in connection with the alleged murder of his 24-year-old girlfriend in Ga-Patamedi, Block 5, Mokwakwaila policing area.
According to Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, the incident took place on Sunday, 17 August, at about 6:00.
“Police were alerted to a murder at Ga-Patamedi, Block 5, and upon arrival discovered the female victim lying on the floor inside a room, covered with a blanket, with visible scratch marks on her face and neck,” Mashaba said.

It is alleged that the victim and the suspect were involved in an altercation that escalated into a physical fight. The suspect’s brother reportedly intervened before leaving them. When he returned, he found the victim lying on the floor and subsequently alerted police.
Emergency Medical Services certified the woman dead at the scene.
Mashaba said the motive for the killing remains unclear, but domestic violence cannot be ruled out.
The suspect was arrested and charged with murder.
