Cape Town – Rapper Emtee has issued a public apology following the leak of private direct messages between himself and former Big Brother Mzansi contestant Mshini Lekwadu.
He shared his apology via Instagram, posting screenshots of a statement written in his notes app alongside the caption, “I am sorry.”

In his message, Emtee clarified that he doesn’t know Mshini personally but became aware of her after seeing how she supported his music during her time on Big Brother Mzansi.
Describing such genuine support as rare, he stressed that his intent was simply to meet her to express gratitude and explore a possible collaboration.
“I’m ‘married’ so I had no other intention but to say thank you and figure out a way we could work together,” he wrote.

Emtee also made it clear that he did not leak the messages. In emphatic capital letters, he stated: “I DID NOT POST THE CONVERSATIONS.”
He further apologised to Mshini, her team, and loved ones, asserting he would never intentionally expose private chats or compromise her safety.
Meanwhile, Mshini Lekwadu broke her silence, offering context for their interactions.
She explained that she responded to Emtee’s direct message because she genuinely appreciated his work and wanted to be involved —possibly in a future music video.

When he asked for her address, she provided it under the impression it was a business-related exchange.
She took issue with screenshots portraying only that part of the conversation, calling them misleading and lacking full context. She emphasised her intention was purely professional and protective of her public image.
