Pretoria – Fears of a serial killer are rising in Pretoria after a fourth burned female body was discovered near the Waltloo train station on Monday, 4 August 2025.
Since June, five murdered women have been found in the east of Pretoria — four burned along a railway line and one partially buried in a field.
Police have not made any arrests in connection with the burned bodies but have assembled a specialised task team to investigate, including detectives, forensic experts, and crime intelligence units, Rekord reported.
“No one has been arrested yet but the task team established to investigate the murders is working around the clock following possible leads to trace the perpetrators. The team comprises of seasoned detectives, crime intelligence, forensic and crime scene experts,” Brigadier Brenda Muridili said in a statement.
