Cape Town – The National Council of Provinces (NCOP) will meet KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi and senior police officials on Monday to address policing issues in the province.
This follows explosive claims by Mkhwanazi alleging deep-rooted corruption involving Police Minister Senzo Mchunu and crime detection commissioner Shadrach Sibiya — both now on special leave.

The NCOP aims to identify how Parliament can support improved policing, including potential legislative changes, addressing crime trends, and tackling the ongoing wave of killings — especially political and police-related murders.
The NCOP delegation will also meet Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli and the provincial executive on Wednesday.
