Durban – A 23-year-old man was arrested in Wentworth, Durban, after stealing a police car and crashing it during a high-speed chase on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
According to KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda, the suspect took the vehicle while officers were attending to a complaint and was apprehended shortly afterward.

“Police were attending to a complaint inside company premises on Austerville Drive in Wentworth on Thursday, July 24, 2025, when the suspect got into the police vehicle and drove off,” IOL quoted Netshiunda as saying.
“A high-speed chase ensued, and the suspect was stopped and arrested.”
He faces charges of theft and negligent driving.
