Johannesburg – FlySafair says all of its scheduled flights for Wednesday are operating as planned, despite continued industrial action by some of its pilots represented by trade union Solidarity.
The airline confirmed it is running a reduced but stable schedule, a measure implemented last week to mitigate disruptions.
“The airline continues to operate a reduced but stable schedule, which was proactively implemented last week. Customers affected by any time changes were notified well in advance via SMS and email using the contact details provided at the time of booking,” it said.
Affected passengers were informed of any schedule changes well in advance via SMS and email, the company said.
On Tuesday, 22 July, 95.2% of FlySafair’s flights departed on time, according to the airline, which praised the “resilience and dedication” of its operational teams.
Most pilots remain on duty, FlySafair added, helping to uphold the airline’s “world-class standards”.
As part of a passenger protection agreement, two of the approximately 120 daily flights are being operated by South African Airways.

“Our focus remains on supporting our customers and restoring full operations as quickly as possible,” said Kirby Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair.
“We are immensely grateful to our teams across the business who are going above and beyond to keep our operations running smoothly under challenging circumstances.”
Negotiations between FlySafair and Solidarity are ongoing, with the parties set to meet this afternoon under the mediation of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA).
The airline stressed that it remains committed to resolving the dispute through constructive dialogue and said it has been engaging with the union and the CCMA “in good faith.”
FlySafair has encouraged passengers to check their flight status through the “Manage My Booking” tool on flysafair.co.za, the FlySafair App, or by visiting the Travel Updates page.
Airport staff are on standby to assist with rebookings, refunds, and alternative travel arrangements.
