Cape Town – The bail application of Tiffany Meek, accused of murdering her 11-year-old son Jayden-Lee Meek, has been postponed to Monday in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.
Meek insists she is being framed and has vowed to prove her innocence at trial.
In a tearful court appearance on Friday, her affidavit — read by her lawyer Noven Naidoo — stated she did not kill her son and plans to appoint a private investigator due to a loss of confidence in the police’s handling of the case.

She faces charges of murder, crimen injuria, attempting to defeat or obstruct the course of justice, and defeating or obstructing the administration of justice.
The Grade 6 pupil allegedly died of blunt-force head trauma at their Fleurhof flat. The state claims there was an attempt to clean up blood evidence, but forensic findings showed blood on Jayden-Lee’s bed and one of his schoolbooks.
Meek has offered R5,000 bail, stating she is not a flight risk and earns R17,500 per month as a clerical worker supporting her mother and brother.
WATCH: Owen Meek, Tiffany’s cousin, says he doesn’t want her to get bail for her safety. He says he’s aware that the community is angry with her and she won’t be safe if she gets bail.

Despite her plea, she will remain in custody over the weekend while the state prepares a response to her affidavit.
Outside court, Jayden-Lee’s uncle, Owen Meek, called for calm after tensions flared.
He urged the public not to attack the Dun family — with whom Jayden-Lee also had close ties — and to allow justice to take its course, noting that more arrests are expected.
“My personal reason for opposing bail is that we need to keep Tiffany inside. We need to keep her safe while inside… if she comes out, we don’t know what’s going to happen…. The community is angry and we feel the anger of everybody because we all feel betrayed…”, said Owen.
