Cape Town – The Fleurhof community is preparing for a tense day as Tiffany Meek, accused of murdering her 11-year-old son Jayden-Lee Meek, appears in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on Friday for her bail hearing.
Her earlier court appearance was delayed due to her lawyer’s absence, sparking further anger among residents demanding justice.
Jayden-Lee was found dead near his home on May 14, following what the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) described as prolonged abuse — one of the worst child abuse cases they’ve seen this year.
Tiffany has not yet entered a plea.

The case has divided public opinion, with Meek’s mother, Debbie Dunn, defending her daughter in a viral TikTok video and alleging the family was sidelined by authorities.
Dunn expressed distrust in the justice system and hopes Meek will be granted bail.
