Cape Town – Following the announcement of his placement on special leave, Shadrack Sibiya has publicly denied all allegations against him — boldly challenging KwaZulu-Natal Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi to “bring it on”.
In an interview with eNCA, an emotional Sibiya addressed the accusations, claiming he was unaware of the claims made by Mkhwanazi and urging him to “come and show the people of South Africa what you’re saying”.
He denied having any evidence of being in possession of the docket that he is being accused off.
“You tell the public, what Shadrack Sibiya do?
“I have never received any docket, I don’t have a safe in my office, I don’t have any archive in my office, I don’t have any docket gathering that’s in my office, I have never seen even a single docket,” said Sibiya.
He confirmed receiving a letter notifying him of an investigation opened against him in relation to the claims made by Mkhwanazi.

However, Sibiya has raised concerns about what he describes as a ‘parallel’ investigation — especially considering that the President has already announced a commission of inquiry into the matter.
“What is very concerning, though, is that I thought the President has pronounced on this matter to say that a commission has been established, that will be chaired by the judge. That will be investigating this matter.
“Everyone will be given an opportunity,” said Sibiya.
He then questioned the need to open another investigation when a commission of inquiry is already under way.
“Why now create other parallel investigations – why move ahead of the commission?
Sibiya said that, with everything currently happening, he fears for his life — claiming he has experienced this kind of situation before and that it is happening again.
In a separate interview with SABC News, Sibiya confirmed that a team from KwaZulu-Natal had come in to try and obtain certain ‘dockets’.

“This is tantamount to a parallel investigation irrespective of the fact that the President announced a commission that should be headed by a judge.
Why go out of your way and conduct a parallel investigation when the President has made a pronouncement?” he said.
“We can’t act with impunity and do things outside that which the President has pronounced. We must all act with the strictest discipline and restraint,” said Sibiya.
