Cape Town – Former Miss South Africa Ntando Kunene has remarried and is expecting her second child, marking a new chapter in her life years after her public divorce from gospel singer and pastor Khaya Mthethwa.
According to The South African , Kunene exchanged vows with her new partner in a private ceremony in Haenertsburg, Limpopo, attended by around 100 guests.
Photos from the event showed Kunene glowing in a white gown, and those in attendance described the ceremony as intimate and spiritual. During her vows, she reportedly quoted scripture and emotionally acknowledged her late father.
“I felt him with me on the walk down the aisle,” she said, according to Briefly News, adding that his teachings prepared her for this moment.
Kunene’s previous marriage to Khaya Mthethwa began in December 2017 and ended in divorce two years later. They share a son, Oyinkosi. The relationship, while once celebrated, ended quietly but left a lasting emotional impact on Mthethwa, who has since spoken openly about the personal fallout.

In a recent reflection, Mthethwa told IOL that the divorce was “the most painful thing I’ve ever gone through”.
He added, “I didn’t have the tools to process it. I went through therapy, took antidepressants, and spent eight months in isolation trying to come to terms with it.”
Mthethwa, who is now a pastor at Oasis Church in Umlazi, has used his experiences as a lesson in healing. In a sermon quoted by IOL, he said: “Even when you have come from a place of divorce, you can still recover, still gain back your life, and still fall in love again.”
He also made it clear that he never wants to go through divorce again, emphasising how spiritually and emotionally draining it was.
The timing of Kunene’s wedding coincided with another viral moment involving Mthethwa’s ex-girlfriend, influencer Sethu Nkosi, who also announced her engagement that same weekend.
