Cape Town – Freedom Front Plus leader Corné Mulder revealed the outcomes of a recent US visit where the party discussed US-South Africa relations from an Afrikaner perspective.
During meetings with White House officials, four non-negotiable conditions were reportedly outlined by the Trump administration to improve ties with South Africa. These included:
-
The ANC publicly denouncing the “Kill the Boer” chant.
-
Addressing farm murders more seriously.
-
Resolving concerns around the Expropriation Act.
-
General clarity and transparency from the ANC.
Mulder stressed the visit was not about complaining, but about fostering honest dialogue to help restore diplomatic and trade relations.
“We did not go to the US to complain. We were clear from the beginning that we would like to see our country prosper and be successful. We are of the view that there are certain challenges that are making that very difficult. If we want to succeed, we need to discuss these things in a frank manner — and we did,” he said.
He described the meetings as comprehensive and well-received.

The visit comes amid tensions over South Africa’s land policies and controversies such as the resurfacing of the “Kill the Boer” chant, which President Trump linked to calls for action against EFF leader Julius Malema.
President Ramaphosa responded by affirming the chant’s historical context and defending it under South Africa’s constitutional right to free expression, referencing a court ruling that it does not constitute hate speech.
