Cape Town – South African actress and singer Simphiwe “Simz” Ngema recently underwent a “mommy makeover” in Turkey, combining a tummy tuck with breast enhancement surgery, and has been candidly sharing her recovery process with her fans.
Ngema, who welcomed her second son in November 2024 and already has a five-year-old, explained that she aimed for a “more natural look” and simply wanted to “fix what was ruined by pregnancy”.
She emphasized that her breasts aren’t larger — they’re just lifted — and her abdomen has been restored to its pre-pregnancy state.
According to The Citizen, she took to Instagram and wrote: “I look like what I used to before having babies. Some people prefer to do more. My boobs are still the same size — they’re just not sagging anymore — and my tummy is back to what it looked like before I had my children.”

By day four of her recovery, Ngema reported feeling significantly better. Three of her surgical drains had already emptied, with only one left, and though she experienced numbness in her abdomen — “like when you’ve slept on your arm”— she confirmed her breasts were “fine” and she was starting to regain sensation in her nipples.

“Day 4 of recovery: I’m feeling so much better. Three of my drains have been empty since yesterday. There’s only one drain that had to be emptied. Still a little uncomfortable. You know when you’ve slept on your arm for a long time, and it feels numb? That’s what my tummy feels like. My boobs are fine — I’m starting to feel a bit of sensation in my nipples”
Ngema’s openness mirrors a growing trend among South African celebrities opting for cosmetic procedures abroad. Stars like Khanyi Mbau, Shamiso Mosaka, and Jojo Robinson have all shared their own post-op experiences, with Turkey emerging as a popular and cost-effective destination.
