Cape Town – TV personality, actor, and South African icon Somizi Mhlongo reminded fans of his many talents this past weekend by sharing a series of Instagram videos showcasing his signature dance moves.
One of the standout clips features Somizi on stage with legendary Kwaito artist Thebe at 012 Lifestyle, where the duo delivered an electrifying performance.

In the video, Somizi captivates the crowd with his high-energy moves, effortlessly gliding across the stage — from the DJ booth to the front — and matching Thebe beat for beat. At one point, he quite literally danced circles around the Kwaito star, owning the moment with dazzling precision and flair.
In the post’s caption, Somizi joked, “Thebe has a new dancer.”
But it wasn’t just his dancing that turned heads. Draped in his own label, Sompire, Somizi showed off his unmistakable fashion sense, proving once again why he’s a trendsetter both on and off the stage.

Somizi also took a moment to remind followers of his monumental role in one of South Africa’s most historic events — the 2010 FIFA World Cup. In another Instagram post, he shared a throwback to the tournament’s opening and closing ceremonies, which he helped choreograph.
“Just in case the history books get lost. Or in case I need to remind you who I am and why I’m still standing,” he wrote. “I was one of the creators of this magic.”
From center stage to cultural milestones, Somizi continues to cement his legacy — one iconic moment at a time
