Cape Town – Xolani Morgan Hadebe appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday after allegedly firing shots at ActionSA members during a branch launch in eThekwini, KwaZulu-Natal this past weekend.
Hadebe, who arrived in a Toyota Quantum, was disarmed by party members and taken to the Sydenham police station. One activist was injured during the altercation.
“A man reportedly fired three shots before being overpowered by attendees, disarmed, and handed over to police in Sydenham,” MDN News reported.

Hadebe faces charges of pointing a firearm and discharging a firearm in a built-up area.
The incident forced the event to be cancelled as members fled in fear.

He requested bail, saying he has children to care for and works as a school transport driver.
The State opposed bail, revealing that Hadebe has previous convictions dating back to 2015.
The case was postponed to June 24 for a bail application.
