Cape Town – Deputy President Paul Mashatile is delivering the keynote address at the official Youth Day commemoration held at North West University’s Potchefstroom campus.
Youth Day, observed annually on June 16 in South Africa, honours the role of young people in the anti-apartheid struggle, particularly the 1976 student uprising.
This year’s theme, “Skills for the changing world — empowering youth for meaningful economic participation,” highlights the need for improved access to skills development and economic opportunities for the youth.
