Johannesburg – The Democratic Alliance (DA) has submitted a motion of no confidence against Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero, accusing him of failing to deliver services.
The motion came ahead of Morero’s State of the City Address, where he was expected to focus on issues like the water crisis, crime, and inner-city renewal.
The DA, however, claimed Morero’s leadership had already failed and was also targeting Council Speaker Nobuhle Mthembu with a separate no-confidence motion.
“The mayor has failed in his duty… a lot of unlawful decisions have been made under his leadership,” the party’s regional leader, Belinda Kayser-Echeozonjoku said.
