Pretoria – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is set to march to the Afrikaner-only settlement of Kleinfontein, near Pretoria, on Friday, following a recent Pretoria High Court ruling that declared the enclave illegal due to violations of planning and building regulations.
According to The Citizen, the City of Tshwane approached the court to enforce municipal laws, and the judgment has reignited national debate over racially exclusive communities such as Kleinfontein and Orania.
The EFF said the march is a demonstration against what it calls “apartheid outposts” that contradict South Africa’s constitutional values of nonracialism.
“The EFF Gauteng stands opposed to the establishment of racially segregated settlements in South Africa, be it Orania or Kleinfontein.
Tomorrow we march to Kleinfontein, to demonstrate our disapproval of this Apartheid outpost and all others who may be wishing for the days long gone,” the EFF said in a statement.

Last month, the Afrikaner-only community of Kleinfontein rejected claims that it is an apartheid enclave, asserting that the settlement is based on culture, not race.
This followed a visit by the MK party, led by Mzwanele Manyi, who questioned whether Kleinfontein was misusing Section 235 of the Constitution, which permits cultural self-determination.
