Johannesburg – A second fire broke out at Tembisa Provincial Tertiary Hospital in Ekurhuleni on Wednesday, affecting the main outpatient department near the Accident and Emergency Unit that was gutted by a blaze on Saturday.
Gauteng health officials confirmed emergency crews were on site, and investigations are ongoing.

Gauteng Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, who visited the hospital earlier, confirmed that all 81 patients were safely evacuated during the weekend fire and that a temporary emergency space has been set up to ensure continued care.

Ambulance arrivals are being diverted, but walk-in and critical services remain available.
The cause of both fires is still under investigation.
