Cape Town — Teboho Mahlatsi, known for his directorial work on shows such as the hit series Shaka iLembe, has died at the age of 49.
His family released a statement, sharing the news of his death and asked for time to mourn their loss.
The family said that more details will be shared in due time.

According to The South African, Teboho’s cause of death is not yet known. Teboho was the director of The Bomb Production Company. He completed film school at the Africa Cultural Centre in 1993. Six years later, he won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival for his debut short film, Portrait of A Young Man Drowning.
The seasoned creative, was also part of the team who created controversial youth drama Yizo Yizo (1999), which airs on streaming service Netflix, Portrait of a Young Man Drowning (1999) and For Love and Broken Bones (2016), TimesLIVE reported.
